INVESTMENT FORUM OF TURKMENISTAN IS TAKING PLACE IN ASHGABAT
On October 1, 2026, the Investment Forum of Turkmenistan started at the Yyldyz Hotel in Ashgabat. The event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan. The officials and experts of governmental entities, international financial institutions, organizations and leading companies from various countries are participating in the Forum.
The Investment Forum of Turkmenistan started with a plenary session entitled “Investment Activity: A Key Factor in Dynamic and Sustainable Economic Development”. The participants listened with great attention to the congratulatory address on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Representatives of Turkmenistan noted that, under the leadership of the Head of State, the country is building a diversified economy, modernizing its industrial infrastructure, as well as establishing advanced processing facilities and complexes based on advanced technologies.
A resolution signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov at a recent meeting of the Halk Maslahaty (People’s Council) approved the “National Strategy for the Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030 – 2045”. This document outlines the objectives for the industrialization of the national economy over the long term.
International participants emphasized that Turkmenistan’s investment climate stems not only from its plentiful natural resources but also from a well-thought-out state policy aimed at creating a favorable environment for entrepreneurship.
Speakers highlighted that the diplomacy promoted by Turkmenistan in the interest of sustainable development, which is based on the principles of neutrality and trust, fosters expanded international cooperation in both the political and economic spheres.
The Investment Forum then continued its work through a series of thematic sessions. Bilateral meetings also took place on the sidelines of the investment forum. A number of documents were signed between Turkmen government entities and private enterprises and their foreign partners.
The Turkmenistan Investment Forum concludes on October 2. The second day will feature sessions titled “Strategic Course Toward Economic Diversification: Cooperation with International Financial Organizations and Development Partners”, “Regulation of Virtual Assets and Implementation of Mining Technologies”, and “Innovation and Financial Technologies: Digital and Green Transformations for Sustainable Development”, as well as a specialized conference on “Legal Regulation of Investments”.
